17. Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco de Asís
- Built in the 17th century
- One of the original structures from Casco Viejo
- Nearly totally destroyed by fires in 1737 and 1756
- 1821 – Convent abandoned and briefly used as a military garrison
- 1882 – Converted to the Hospital de Extranjeros
- 1892 – Became a college and later a school
- Most recently restored between 1999-2003 and is now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
